Using faint radio waves, it contacts the player—a survivor—and guides them to uncover the root cause of the collapse and find a way to reverse the catastrophe.
The player is the last surviving cyborg, with a gene for resistance to the collapse factor implanted within their body. They can function normally even in environments with high collapse concentrations and are the only being with the potential to halt the spread of the disaster.
