Because in many foreign languages, there's only the male & female identifiers in a particular conversation. Only the English language has a 3rd identifier "it". In the majoirty of languages, the male/female identifier us used based on who uses it, with very few exceptions. So, in Other words, if a man is writing or speaking, he will most often use "he"/"him", even when referring to females. The same goes for females although, generally speaking, females tend to be a bit more scrutinous when applying "she"/"her" when referring to males. The use of the masculine when applied to females tells me that the writer is a foreign language male. Also, the English language is harder to translate Because of a 3rd person identifier and other factors like idioms and phrases that only English uses. It doesn't make them dumb, just inexperienced in using/speaking Englush
