Humans have felt fascination and identification - including sexual and sexual-ritualistic fascination/identification - with anthropomorphic characters since, like, humankind has existed; it's the degree of anthropomorphic features, accentuated by symbolic-animalistic features in same characters. You'd be surprised for how many this is not a no-brainer it should be. If anything, gotta wonder if those getting heebie-jeebies from furry-characters are plain ignorant or in desperate denial (=willful ignorance).

Furry sexual fantasies ain't that different from other types of sexual fantasies, yeah they kinda reflect individual wishes more and less directly but they ain't uncommon (au contraire) and they reflect, too, common strivings, longings and desires in different forms that others may not recognize at once, but reflect them they do still. This ought not to be controversial even if there is no more need for advertising it in every company than any other sexual fascination (another common-sense distinction that in my experience seems to be lost on many people haters and fans alike, though it ought to be a no-brainer, like c'mon folks C'MON).
