Natasha doesn't have ovaries, as they were removed as part of her assassin training. So she can never have have kids of her own. But Mantis lays eggs, so it bypasses the need for them, as can be seen by the fact she can lay them in her stomach. Which means Mantis made Natasha something she wanted, but was unable to ever become, until now.
