It’s not just the typical husband/girlfriend cheating trope; they also explore son/mother dynamics, which I personally find depressing. (ﾉД`) Let me use Chona as an example since it’s the one I’m familiar with: a mother and son live in poverty, so the mother starts streaming adult content to make money. (个_个) She slowly becomes more "promiscuous", and the son witnesses everything from his perspective. ( ; ω ; ) I find these kinds of stories genuinely grim and not to my taste. The art style, often muted, gray, and desaturated also reinforces this gloomy atmosphere. This is a direct continuation of the previous one. I had originally planned for them to be a single, hour-long chapter, but as I mentioned in the last video's description, I ran into some technical issues. (´･ᴗ･ ` ) I also wanted to revisit a point I made about the story early on. Near the beginning of the game, I commented that it seemed like there were no 'good' people, that every character was either bad or messed up in some way. However, having reached this point and seen this specific scene, I've come to a different conclusion. (・`ω´・) I now believe that the true victims, the characters who are largely blameless, are the mother and the daughter (to a certain extent). (；⌣̀_⌣́) Let's break it down: Yes, the mother was unfaithful to her first husband, and that action, want it or not, is not justifiable. But if we set that aside, it's clear she doesn't enjoy or at least doesn't have a healthy dynamic with her current husband. (¯▿¯) During the scene, she mentions that she loved the protagonist and then accuses him of being the same as her husband, calling them both 'demons.' (︶︹︺) I think this happens because the wife knew, or perhaps felt, that her husband's love was twisted. He had been 'training' their own daughter, grooming her to lose her virginity and become another sexual object for him. (╯︵╰,) So, perhaps the wife hoped the protagonist would genuinely love only her, and that together they could escape (with her daugther) or be saved from her current husband. (＃＞＜) Upon discovering that the protagonist was not only with her but also with her daughter, she made the comparison and realized that both the protagonist and her husband are utter human garbage. ┐('～`;)┌ In this situation, I'd say the true victim is ultimately the daughter. She has a completely warped and disturbing understanding of romantic relationships because of her sick father, who spent years 'training' her to be his future sex doll.
